How the count is defined
Your browser reads today’s date from your device and adds 30 days, which gives the date above. The same date engine drives the date calculator, so the two pages cannot disagree with each other.
Every calendar day counts, weekends and public holidays included. Today is treated as day zero, so the result is the 30th day after today rather than counting today itself as the first day. If your contract counts the starting day as day one, shift the result by a day.
Because the answer depends on today, it is not written into the page. It is recalculated every time the page opens, in your own time zone, and never leaves the device.
Thirty days is not "one month"
This is the single most common mistake with the interval. Thirty days from 31 January is 2 March, not 28 February; thirty days from a date in a 31-day month always lands before the same date in the next month. Contracts that mean the calendar month say "one month", and contracts that mean a fixed count say "30 days" — the two produce different dates seven months of the year. If you need the calendar-month version, the date calculator adds months with proper end-of-month clamping.
Net 30, notice to vacate, and 30-day returns
Thirty days is the default commercial credit term: Net 30 means the invoice falls due thirty days after its date, and accounts-receivable ageing reports bucket everything past that as 30, 60 and 90 days overdue. It is also the standard notice a month-to-month tenant or a subscriber gives to end an agreement, and the length of a typical retail returns window. In all three cases the count is calendar days from the trigger date — the invoice date, the day notice is served, the day of purchase — which is often not today.
Weekends, holidays and working days
Nothing is skipped here: weekends and public holidays sit inside the count, which is what a plain day count means in almost every contract, notice and policy. If your deadline is written in working days instead, 30 business days from today skips the weekends and lands later.
The result box still shows how the span divides — how many of the days are Mondays to Fridays and how many are weekend days — because that is usually the real question behind “will this be dealt with in time”. Public holidays are not deducted from that weekday figure.
Common questions
Is 30 days from today the same as one month from today? Only in a 30-day month. Adding 30 days to a date in a 31-day month lands one day before the same date next month, and in February it overshoots by two or three days.
What does Net 30 mean? The invoice is payable thirty days after the invoice date. Count from the invoice date rather than from today if the invoice was issued earlier.
Does a 30-day notice period include weekends and holidays? Yes, unless the agreement says business days. A plain 30-day notice runs on calendar days straight through weekends and public holidays.
